Welcome to The Texas Double L Ranch website!
In our 20 plus years in the horse business, we have met many wonderful people, made lots of life long friends, and had many, many wonderful horses. There are people all over the World riding "Texas Double L" horses, many of these folks are repeat customers!
For those of you who don't know us, here is a little more info:
This is a Family managed Ranch. We do all the work ourselves, we always have. It is just "who we are". We moved to Lufkin, TX. from the Houston area in 1995. Bobby retired from teaching/coaching and my Mother, Susan retired from her Outside Sales position with State Chemical Co. and our son Clint was ready to start kindergarten when we all started the Texas Double L Ranch together. We built barns, sheds, fences, (and more barns, sheds, and fences!!!!). It was lots of hard work and lots of fun! Now, YEARS later.....we're still at it. Allison also works for Rattlesnake Ranch/Bar B Ranch helping out with Ranch Sales and Marketing. We foal out mares for clients, (Minis and full sized horses), we do a little Equine photography, we also condition horses for Sales.
We started out with Quarter Horses, (we've always had a few, no matter what!). We also trained, bred, and showed American Miniature Horses (along with our QH program). Mom still has a few Minis, she says it's FUN and she loves them! Bobby and I have one Quarter Horse stallion and a few mares. We plan to raise 4-5 foals a year. The stallion we have now, King O Glo, we believe is the best stallion we have ever owned. He is also Allison's riding horse and he's just very "special" to us all. We have several mares in foal to King and due in 2010. Several of our clients bred mares to King too and we hope to have lots of beautiful Buckskin, Palomino and Buckskin/Palomino Paint "King" babies running around in everyone's pastures next year!
